the Velvetones were a familiar sight in the Adelphi Club in Hull back in the 1980s. A couple of members went on to illustrious music Careers. Drummer, Dave Hemmingway moved to the Housemartins and thence to the Beautiful South where he was eventually joined by Velvetones guitarist and composer Dave Rotheray.
